Somatic Therapy for Your True Self
Pain Reprocessing Therapy | Somatic Therapy
You want to be yourself.
But, you wonder, what does that even mean?
As you’ve walked this path of healing, you’ve realized… your pain is not what you thought it was.
It’s deeper.
Your pain and your symptoms are covering up a lot of emotional hurt. They’re also covering up a lot of trauma.
This is not your fault.
And now you can see: your relationship with yourself—if we’re being honest—could use some work.
Because of your conditioning, you’ve always felt you’re not as good, or as valid, as other people.
You’re very attuned to others’ needs, but you feel it’s wrong to prioritize your own.
You feel you have to meet others’ obligations.
There’s not much genuine fun in your life.
Your time just fills up with tasks and productivity.
You accommodate, you take on too much, you quietly self-reflect, and you keep your emotions stuffed down.
The resentment builds. And then, when you finally say something, the people in your life seem shocked that you’re unhappy.
Are they really that clueless? Do they really understand so little about you? Can’t they read between the lines? Can’t they see you’re suffering?
Or are you really that bad at communicating?
It feels like everything is somehow your responsibility.
As you’re healing, you’re waking up to something.
You’re discovering that you’re keeping a lot of your true self down.
What you thought was a kind, generous, loyal, giving, and balanced self… is actually a repressed self.
As you’re realizing the gravity of what you’ve been repressing, you’re also realizing that you had to develop certain personality traits to become a person who could “endure” your life.
You’ve made yourself small.
You’ve been too nice.
You’ve focused on others’ goals, on others’ satisfaction, and even on others’ plans for you.
And, of course, you’ve been in pain.
Now, you’re starting to see—that person is not really you. You are much more.
This is an opportunity to grow.
If you’re looking for a safe place to process this, and a non-judgmental therapist to process it with, it would be my honor.
You can have confidence in somatic therapy. The conversations we’ll have are designed to help you tune in to yourself. They’re designed to help you process trauma. They’re designed to help you integrate. They’re designed, truly, for you.
